TALP - IT schools IN Karnataka

TEACHER’S TRAINING UNIT

TALP – IT @ schools IN Karnataka

The technology-supported learning program at the state government primary, high school and undergraduate colleges is scheduled to be implemented for a period of 5 years in 2016-17. The IT @ Schools in Karnataka project has been implemented as part of the program. Teachers of primary, high school and pre-college colleges can use technology (ICT) skills to facilitate their learning, as well as to reinforce their professional attitudes and enable them to create the e-resources required for their teaching and learning processes. In Karnataka is the goal of the project. In 2016-17, the DESERT partnered with the Azeem Prem Jee Foundation (APF) to develop the ICT for ICT. Based on the Teachers' Curriculum, some of the state's resource teachers have been producing and using over 143 videos in Kannada language, task guides and training. Then from 2017-18, the state has been conducting these trainings with the encouragement and guidance of CIETT-NCEERT, New Delhi. ICT prepared by C.I.ET. Teachers' curriculum is implemented in the state and their own web portal https://ictcurriculum.gov.in is being used.

This training program has 3 steps.

Step 1: Induction-1:- 10 days face-to-face training. Here teachers gain the basics and skills about computer hardware, software, internet and office suites.

Step 2: Refresher Course-1:- 10 days face-to-face training. Here teachers learn many of the technologies and applications needed to create their own e-resources.

Step 3: Refresher Course-2:- is a short duration online course where teachers learn about the security and security measures of the Internet.

In Karnataka, the project was implemented from 2016-17. 25 government high schools in the district were selected for the project and Induction-1 training was provided to teachers teaching English, Mathematics and Social Science in those schools. 25 schools in 2017-18, 14 schools in 2018-19 and Induction-1 & Refresher-1 & 2 training for all subject teachers of 39 government high schools in Tele-education Project have been effectively implemented at District Education & Training Institute, Davanagere. Computers will be supplied to schools in this scheme and all the 23 schools selected for the year 2016-17 will have 10 + 1, 15 + 1, 20 + 1 computers according to their student population. It is a project to educate students and teachers on ICT. The school teachers are given student ICT training, which provides information on the use of computers to students and the introduction of e-resources to the students. Introducing students to e-content embedded in all-in-computers has greatly encouraged self-learning.
